ABOUT
Brianna Murray is praised for having “one of those soprano voices, clear, perfectly-placed, angelic, that could go on all day and I would still want more” (Herald Times). Brianna spent the past 2 years as a studio artist with Madison Opera where she performed the role of Jeanette in L'amant Anonyme and covered both Cunegonde in Candide and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Brianna also performed in numerous recitals and community events throughout her time in Madison. Other recent highlights include a house and role debut with St. Petersburg Opera as Oberto in Alcina and roles with Chicago Opera Theater and Indianapolis Opera. Other performed roles include Adina in L'elisir d'amore, Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Frasquita in Carmen, and Clorinda in La Cenerentola, and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte. On the concert stage she has performed as the soprano soloist in The Messiah with the Fox Valley Orchestra, the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana, Schubert's Mass in G, Mozart's Mass in C Minor, and was a soloist in Harry Potter 8 concert movie screening with Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Equally comfortable on the musical theater stage, Brianna performed the role of Anne Egerman in Sondheim's A Little Night Music at the Quisisana Resort where she returned following seasons as Pamina in The Magic Flute and Juliette in Roméo et Juliette. Raised in the Chicagoland area, Brianna completed her undergraduate degrees in Voice and Psychology at Oberlin Conservatory and obtained her master’s degree in voice along with a certificate in Vocology and completed doctoral coursework from Indiana University. In addition to performing, Brianna is a teaching artist with the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
